NWBHIPA is dedicated to providing comprehensive, confidential, quality mental health care to the community, to bringing excellent educational opportunities to the Pacific Northwest, and to providing a valuable source of collegial support to our members. We hope to deter the development of policies that could prevent people needing mental health services from gaining access to those services. Such policies include those that restrict access to providers by complicated pre-authorization requirements, that include a limited selection of providers, that place unwarranted limits on the number of therapy sessions while ignoring what professionally licensed therapists and our patients determine to be necessary care, and that establish unrealistic patient co-payments.
About Us
The Northwest Behavioral Health Independent Provider Association is a non-profit group of over 300 mental health providers throughout Whatcom, Skagit, Island, and San Juan counties in Washington State. We are a group of psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurses, social workers, LMHCs and other therapists from various practice groups and settings who come together twice a year to participate in quality continuing education from leaders in the fields of Mental Health.
